The Toronto Real Estate Board reported 9,690 sales of single family homes in March 2012. This sales volume represents a 38 percent increase over the sales volume for February 2012, as well as an 8 percent increase over the sales volume reported for March 2011.

The sales-to-new listing ratio remained near the threshold between balanced and sellers’ market conditions at 52.1%. A total of 108,373 homes traded hands in the first 3 months of 2012. March 2012 the majority of major centers are described as balanced. With a new listings-to-sales ratio just below 2.0.
