About us:

Started as a new business in Hornby in 2011 Barr’s Small Engines brings over 20+ years professional industry experience in Technical Support, Parts Sales, Repair & Maintenance, Warranty as well as new equipment sales of Outdoor Power Equipment and Engines

Owned and Operated by Greg Barr, life time resident of Georgetown, Greg has had the opportunities to work in almost all major branded shops learning about all brands of machines, and accessing proper factory training for each.  Getting his start as a co-op student through Milton District High School Greg went on to work at the shop where he completes his co-op as a full time employee for an additional 5 years as he went to college for Small Engine repair.

After moving from the small shop in Milton and growing into more advanced rolls at larger dealerships for brands like John Deere, Kubota, Toro, Honda, & others where he gained knowledge in the shop working various brands made value added assets to running a shop of his own.   Working as a parts counter lead for Ditch Witch Milton, and then handling advanced Dealer technical support, warranty administration and dealer training as an education co-director at one of Canada’s largest Outdoor Power Equipment & Briggs and Stratton engine distributor gave him the knowledge to handle any and all customer support, sales and service concerns.
Daily, Barr’s Small Engines grows and expands, after outgrowing their original location in 2014 and moving into Georgetown from support of the community they are here to stay.

Services Offered:

Service work; Barr’s offers everything from routine regular maintenance as outlined in your owner’s manual to major repair and rebuild of engines and equipment from normal wear and service. Barr’s is a warranty dealer for most brands of engines including Honda, Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Power More, Kawasaki and more.

Sales; Offering professional power equipment like String trimmers, Chain Saws, Blowers, Lawn Mowers, Water Pumps, Generators, Replacement engines and more in Gas, Professional Battery and Electric modes of operation Barr’s has the proper tools & equipment you want and need. At a price that will beat most mass retailers when you consider you will be getting a professional tool, one that is assembled and tested before you get it into your hands, and the peace of mind knowing that if you were to ever have an issue with its operation or a concern about how to use it you only need to come to the place you bought if from for all after-sales support - No need to call any 800 numbers and drive hours for a dealer to look after a product with limited support.

Parts; For the DIY looking to service, tune-up or even rebuild your own equipment the one thing you will need is Parts, many manuals and videos are on-line to assist ‘handy’ people in servicing their own equipment. Barr’s offers parts for ALL brands of engines and equipment for the DIY consumer. If you simply need a part to get your machine back in action or just need that filter for your regular maintenance we can help you out. You will also find our parts are much cheaper than the mass retail stores; sure you can go to your local hardware store and get a filter, but when you get it from Barr’s you will be sure you aren’t paying for added packaging to display it nicely on a shelf. We buy in bulk as the parts we sell we also use in our daily services therefore you save on individual packaging.  You will also have the peace of mind knowing when you bring in a part our 20+ years experience will be able to identify that part and look up the proper and most updated replacement for you.
